Hello everyone!! Here's a wee bit of a different blog post. :)
Last month I won a 'My Care Pack' giveaway from Oh Natural NZ. I thought I'd share with you what I got from it because I enjoyed this little treat so much.
SPOILER ALERT: This was the July Pack and it will show everything that was in it.
If you would like to check out My Care Pack yourself click here. My Care Pack is a monthly subscription box which contain lots of NZ branded and made goodies. The packs can contain food, eco-friendly, healthy, lifestyle and beauty products. The boxes start from $30 per month and are sent out on the 1st of each month.
I received the Rise and Shine Care Box :) How cute is this packaging?
This is what I got :)
Here come the reviews:
Go Bamboo Adult Toothbrush
The toothbrush is basically an eco-friendly god, perfect for a hippie like me. This brush is 100% biodegradable which means you can literally chuck it in your garden once you've finished with it and it will decompose. In fact they even advise you to chuck it on your compost. The bristles are really soft and good quality. It's such a cute little tooth brush and I love it.
Red Seal Mineral Toothpaste
So I don't know much about chemicals and what not, but what I do know is that this toothpaste has such a lovely minty, fresh scent that makes your breath smell amazing for ages. For those who do know health-jumble it says that this toothpaste contains herb extracts and oils and is free from parabens and SLS (sodium lauryl sulphate) - which sounds pretty legit.
Kerikeri Organic Green Honeybush Tea
This tea is amazing. I am sipping it at the moment as I type. I am an absolute tea maniac and I must say, this has got to be in the top 5 of teas I've tried. It tastes like traditional green tea except it's got a subtle, sweet, honey taste to it. This tea is not only delicious but also certified organic, fair trade and caffeine free.
Awaken Alive Energy Food Bar
This bar definitely has that healthy, good-for-you taste to it. It's very chewy and surprisingly sticky but sweet and yummy. I got the bar in the spiced apricot and cashew flavour. I'm not a fan of the spiced apricot flavour but it's bearable. This bar is visibly packed of healthy goodness; fruits, chia seeds and other nuts. This bar is organic, natural, NZ made and gluten free.
Nuzest Good Green Stuff
Not going to lie, I wasn't a huge fan of this 'good green stuff' stuff. I'm sure the health benefits of this would be endless, it contains berries, fruits, veges, green alga, herbs, superfoods - you name it! This green stuff was a bright green, very fine powder which you added to water or juice. The problem was that this literally tasted like grass when you add water to it. It tasted nice when you used juice instead of water, it even added a little zesty flavour to the juice. But the problem was then that my juice was a murky, dark green colour, which did not look appealing to say the least. So, if you are a visual eater I would not recommend this.
Cec's Smart Bar
This smart bar was delicious! It tasted like rice krispie bars with honey and a little nutty flavour and it was so yummy. Perks of this bar was that it was quite large so it was a filling snack, it also contains no added sugar and preservatives. It's also locally made in the Hawke's Bay.
Mother Earth Brekkie on the Go
These little nibbles were very nutty and there were quite a lot of these packs of nibbles. They tasted average by themselves, I haven't tried these with other things yet but I would possibly stir these into some yoghurt or sprinkle it on top of porridge for breakfast. They are little bundles of NZ seeds, nuts and oats.
The Aromatherapy Co Energy Pulse Point
I really liked the smell of this oil mix. It was a very revitalizing scent with lemon, sweet almond and rosemary essential oils. I liked how this blend of oils was in a roller ball too, it was easy to apply to pulse points (like the wrists, behind your ears) and the scent was very long lasting. I haven't had that much of an opportunity to play around with this yet but it claims to revitalise and energise you with it's stimulating oils.
I also received a voucher and a mini recipe book. So that's what I got!
