Hello everyone! As promised, I have another DIY for you <3
I absolutely love this soap dispenser. I've seen many tutorials online but none really seemed that easy (people used hammers and nails and things like that), but I only used garden scissors.
I would've loved to use a mason jar but they aren't sold in New Zealand.
Things you will probably need:
- Jar
- Foamy hand soap dispenser
- Paint (optional)
- Bakers Twine
- Sharpie
- Gardening scissors
- Sandpaper (optional)
- Clear nail polish or sealant spray
Method:
- Roughly trace the size of the dispenser onto the jar lid to determine the approximate size to cut out
- Pierce the middle of the jar with your garden scissors
- Make the hole larger by cutting the lid and bending the metal back. Make sure that the whole isn't too large otherwise the dispenser will not fit.
- Optional: Paint your lid with a paint colour of your choice
- For a shabby chic style, sand bits of the paint once dried
- Use nail polish or a clear sealant to make the paint waterproof
- Slot the dispenser into the hole. You may need to use a bit of force but that means it's secure and more water-tight.
- To decorate I cut a paper doily in half and tied it to the jar with some bakers twine.
You should not be able to see any rough cuttings because the outer part is larger than the bit you push through :)
Bye for now,
