Hi guys :)
Today I'm showing you how to make some delicious and easy pepperoni pizza swirls from scratch. It's back to school now and these would be a great for your lunchbox or as a quick and yummy breakfast snack. What's also great is that you're making everything from scratch (even the dough) so you can customise your toppings like you would with a normal pizza.
Yes i did eat them all. |
Sooo good. Look at that toasty, cheesy, meaty goodness. |
Ingredients:
For the base:
- 300g flour
- 1 tsp salt
- 1/2 tsp active yeast
- 170ml warm water
- 1 tbp olive oil
- Tomato paste
- Cheese
- Pepperoni (I used a mix of pepperoni slices and salami sticks chopped up)
- Add your yeast and olive oil to your warm water and stir it up a bit. This will activate the yeast.
- Add this mixture to your dry ingredients of flour and salt.
- Use your clean hands to mix and knead the mixture together until it forms a dough.
- Leave the dough to sit for at least 1 hour in a warm room or overnight in the fridge. The yeast will work it's magic. You will end up with a lovely golden brown dough.
- Use a rolling pin or a jar and roll out your dough onto a floured work bench to form a rectangular shape.
- Spread your pizza sauce on to the base.
- Slice up your pepperoni.
- Grate your cheese onto the pizza and add your pepperoni too.
- Being delicate, roll your base up from the long end.
- Once you've got a funny looking sausage thing, simply cut them into pieces.
- Place them onto a buttered baking sheet (I wouldn't recommend using baking paper like I did as it stuck to the bottom of the swirls a bit).
- Bake for 15 minutes at 200°C.
Bye for now,
