How to: Restore Vintage Furniture

Me and my mum recently bought a set of drawers off Trademe for only $30 and restored it. Hopefully you get some tips from this DIY :)

Before and Afters:

Materials:

• Antique drawers ($30)
• Dust Mask
• Filler and spatula
• Sandpaper and duster
• Stencil paper
• Marker
• Masking tape
• Scissors
• Pencil
• Spray paint or traditional paint
• Small paint brush
• Paint for any details (I used a grey paint)

Method

1. Set up your furniture by taking out the drawers and removing the handles.
2. Sand down most of the old paint.
3. Paint your drawers
4. Use your stencil for your design to help you use masking tape and scissors to cut out an outline for your design.
5. Paint on your design
6. Once dried, remove your masking tape and tiny up rough edges with white paint
7. Screw your handles back on

This was my final result :D I made the vase with an old glass jar, ribbon and flowers.
