Hello everyone!
I thought I'd show you 3 skincare/beauty DIYs. These are really good for your skin and are made of mostly natural ingredients :) I'll show you how to make your own sweet watermelon body scrub, makeup remover wipes (perfect for eye makeup), and refreshing toner.
Watermelon Scrub
A watermelon scrub is the perfect summer body scrub. Watermelon is a natural toner, moisturizer and after sun treatment (how fitting!). It's also packed full of vitamin A and antioxidants which prevent aging.
You will need:
- Watermelon
- Sugar
- Coconut Oil
1. To juice the watermelon scoop out some watermelon and use a spoon to press it into a sieve. Collect the juice in a bowl over under the sieve.
2. Next add equal parts of watermelon juice and sugar until the container is full and your desired consistency is reached.
3. Add in 3-4 tablespoons of coconut oil (make sure it's liquid, so heat it up if necessary. Stir into your scrub.
4. Your scrub is ready to use! The sugar can settle to the bottom so make sure you stir it up a bit every time.
Makeup Remover Pads
These makeup remove wipes/pads are super easy to make. The coconut oil and vitamin E oil capsules are super hydrating to the skin. This makeup remover is very gentle and perfect for removing makeup around the eyes.
You will need:
- Coconut oil
- Vitamin E oil capsules (optional)
- A gentle cleanser
- Container with a wide opening
- Cotton pads
1. Fill half the container with water and pour in 2 tablespoons of coconut oil
2. Squeeze in 4 capsules of Vitamin E oil
3. Add half a pump of your favourite gentle cleanser
4. Stir the mixture together and allow your cotton pads to soak it up
Aloe and Glycerin Toner
This aloe vera and glycerin toner is very gentle on the skin. It is refreshing to spritz on during the day or you can add it to your everyday skincare routine. Glycerin and aloe vera are both great ingredients that are hydrating, anti-aging and brighten the complexion.
You will need:
- Glycerin (you can buy this from the pharmacy)
- Aloe vera juice or fresh aloe vera
- Bottles (spray or normal bottles)
1. To make aloe vera juice: cut off 4-6 aloe vera 'leaves'
2. Cut each 'leaf' in half length-ways
3. Press it through a sieve to squeeze out the juice
4. Fill your bottles with aloe vera almost all the way
5. Squeeze in 1 tablespoon of glycerin into each small bottle
5. Apply by spraying and patting into face or using a cotton pad and sweeping over your face
I hope you guys enjoyed these 3 skincare recipes :)
